About Us

The Educational Council is a non-profit organization that as formed in 1986 to foster cross-district programming and improve education through a confederation of 16 public school districts in Franklin County. The Council provide a forum for district leaders to gather together to discuss issues in education and develop and implement innovative educational programs.

The Council's initiatives address the needs that have been identified by the districts and our community partners. Each initiative furthers the Educational Council's mission, "Helping educational systems personalize learning so each child can succeed."

The Board of the Educational Council include the superintendents of the sixteen districts within the county and two additional representatives from Columbus City Schools. The Franklin County Educational Service Center Superintendent also is a member.

The Chair of the Council alternates each year between the Columbus City Schools and one of the other districts. The Executive Committee meets monthly and the full board four times a year.
