(PPAAUS items 98 & 99) An average of 64 percent of the high-school students had participated in athletics on at least one level: 27 percent participated in athletics in seventh or eighth grade; 20 percent had been on Freshman teams; 24 percent had been on Junior Varsity or Reserve teams, and 26 percent had been on Varsity teams. An average of 65 percent of the students in grades seven and eight indicated they were on seventh- or eighth-grade teams. Twenty-one percent of the sixth through eighth graders had been on one team, 20 percent on two teams, and 26 percent on three or more teams. An average of 30 percent of the high-school students had been on one team, 22 percent on two teams, and 12 percent on three or more teams.
