Family Intervention Programs (FIP)

Helping Students Recognize and Avoid Dangerous Behaviors, Stay Focused on School, and Pursue Healthy Lifestyles

Family Intervention Programs were first offered over 20 years ago to students starting to experiment with alcohol, drugs, truancy and other dangerous behaviors.  The goals of FIP are to identify students at risk, educate them about the consequences of their actions, and promote academic success and healthy lifestyles.

Topics covered in FIP workshops include family communication, parenting skills, student decision-making skills, positive elements in student lives, and helpful resources available throughout the community.  At least one parent is required to attend with every student.  Student referrals to FIP are accepted from school administrators, law enforcement officials and concerned parents.
