Program Components
Junior Leaders
  • Administered in partnership with the Junior League of Columbus, Inc.
  • Workshops are held over eight consecutive Saturdays during the Winter
  • Female students in the 6th and 7th grades are nominated to participate by middle schools in Franklin County
  • There is no charge for students or schools
Fall and Winter Institutes
  • Workshops are held over six consecutive Sundays
  • Each high school in Franklin County is invited to nominate one student to participate in each of the Institutes
  • All workshops are held at the Educational Council located at 1929 Kenny Road.
  • There is no charge for students or schools
Summer Institute
  • Takes place on the campus of the Ohio State University
  • Workshops are conducted in a camp format over the course of 4-days and 3-nights
  • Each high school in Franklin County is invited to nominate one female student to participate. Selected youth-serving organizations are also invited to nominate a student to participate.
  • Workshops take place in college classrooms and students and volunteers reside in college residence halls
  • Students are given tips on how to apply and prepare for college
  • The registration fee is $150. Partial scholarships
