Students are selected to participate in the Educational Council LEADER Institute based on the following criteria.

1. Is a female sophomore or junior attending a public high school in Franklin County? Mature freshman may be selected. Students in the 6the and 7th grades can participate in the Junior Leaders program.
2. Has some leadership experience in school or community groups or shows potential for leadership. She may be an "emerging" leader who needs additional skills and confidence.
3. Is interested in learning about group leadership and in developing here leadership potential.
4. Is willing to make the time commitment to attend the entire LEADER Institute experience.

5. Is willing to use the information and skills she develops through the LEADER Institute to become more involved in the school and community.
