The Safe School Audit Guidebook leads school Audit teams through a six-step process:

  • Creating goals, parameters, a timeline and communication plan
  • Developing the stakeholder team
  • Gathering and analyzing data
  • Using data to make action decisions
  • Implementing change
  • Gathering data to assess change and determine next steps

Continuous improvement is central to the Safe School Audit process. Conducting the initial Audit begins a cycle that involves gathering hard data, making decisions based on the data, implementing change and then, most importantly, gathering data again to see if goals are being met.

Safe School Audit Recording Form
The 56 conditions included in the recording form are assessed based on your school communities survey information.  The survey instruments are included in the Guidebook described below.

Safe School Audit Guidebook
The Guidebook outlines a six-step process for conducting an audit including developing your audit team, gathering data and using it to affect change. The Guidebook also includes work plans, survey instruments and facilitation tips for managing the process.

Safe School Audit Survey Analysis
This service will analyze the data you have gathered with the Safe School Audit Surveys and create reports for each Audit Work Group as well as a Master Report for school or project administrators. The clear, user-friendly reports include observations and recommendations based on results of the statistical analysis. We can arrange for data entry or we can provide an input program for your Audit Team. Please call for current prices.

On-Line Survey Process
This service allows stakeholders (students, staff, and parents) to go "on-line" at school, home, or work to answer the questions of the Safe School Audit. PINS are generated for each survey and schools may distribute these PINS to their stakeholders. Listed cost includes administrative set-up and analysis per building. Reports are generated and sent to your building(s) once analysis is complete. Buildings may "customize" their surveys to target areas such as traffic flow, School Resource Officer perceptions, dress code and much more.
